Precedent Analysis - Norwegian Parliament
The Norwegian Parliament building in Oslo, Norway, or “Stortingsbygningen,” was designed by Swedish Architect Emil Victor Langlet. Construction began on August 3rd, 1860, and Parliament moved in on March 5th, 1866. The Storting Building’s architecture has been described as an eclectic mix of the Neo-Romanesque styles taught and practiced in L’École de Beaux Arts and traditional Scandinavian design elements. These elements can be seen in the window and roof eave ornamentations. This blend of traditions has made Stortingsbygningen one of Europe's most unique parliamentary buildings.
